Lake Bled is one of the most popular – and picturesque – tourist destinations in Slovenia. A gothic church of the Assumption of Mary is situated in the island in the middle of it, and you can see the nearby Julian Alps reflecting in the lake water. People from towns around Bled offer boat rides to the church, but the best view on the lake is from Bled castle built on the rock over the water (picture above).
Bled lake is an unmissable place in Slovenia – and that’s saying something, as this country is extremely beautiful and diverse. Be sure not to go there in the high season though, as the number of tourists could prevent you from even going to the waterside – I can personally attest to it.
